I grew up in Montana in a town of about 20 people, theirs was more about cows than humans and I learned quickly that I needed to get the hell outta there and really expand, grow and network with big time players. I went to college for a few years to play football and dropped out to start an Oil company that I had for 6 Years. Traveling across the country cutting Oil deals. From there is where I quick chasing those deals and started the current 5 companies I’m running In Arizona.I've been an entrepreneur my entire life from selling shoes, to reselling tools and lemonade. Really anything I can get my hands on that would turn a buck. So I find the purpose of what I want to accomplish with an interest or a business and start making moves.
What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?
Funding. Its tough to start a business if you don't have alot of money. But if you're successful and smart then you can make one and save and keep bootstrapping companies and businesses until you're getting consistent residual income from multiple sources.
Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?
How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?
At first, after I left my partnership with my dad he kinda chuckled and laughed that I was going to start a meal-prep company. He said "you're gonna cook meals for people?" I said "Yes, and I'm going to turn it into a million dollar business." Well, 2 years later. I've done that. He's no longer laughing at anything I've done or continue to do. I'm sure they're more people as well but I just never heard about it.
What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?
Self Motivation is a big thing when you're an entrepreneur. Because you have nobody telling you to get up in the morning, keep moving forward ect..
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?
Everything takes longer than its suppose to. Every 2 steps forward you think somethings going to go wrong and its going to make you take a step back.
What advice would you give to an upcoming young and old entrepreneur locally and internationally?
Everynight I would sit down and write in your notes, or ipad or piece of paper 5 THINGS that you need done the next day. Most people don't complete 1/2 tasks needed for their business in a day. So when you consistently do 5 things that are going to make you a better business man, leader, entrepreneur then you need to keep doing these things day in and day out.
