Born in Canada, she brings a unique blend of talent, determination, and compassion to everything she does. Amihere's journey in basketball is marked by remarkable achievements and a commitment to making a difference. As a rising star, she clinched gold at the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship for Women and followed it with a bronze at the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup. Her prowess on the court caught the attention of the basketball world, leading to her selection for Canada's 2020 Olympic team.


Her collegiate career at the University of South Carolina further solidified her legacy. In April 2022, she achieved the pinnacle of collegiate success by helping her team secure the NCAA national championship, a testament to her skill, leadership, and dedication.


Beyond the court, Amihere's impact extends far and wide. As the founder of Back to the Motherland, she channels her passion for sports into a platform for empowerment and access.


Through camps, educational seminars, gear donations, and more, she uplifts underserved populations, particularly minority groups and young girls, across North America and Africa. Her vision transcends borders, bridging communities and fostering opportunities for all.


Amihere's commitment to equity and inclusion is evident in her various roles, from overseeing equity and inclusion activities for student-athletes at the University of South Carolina to serving on the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She leads by example, advocating for change and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.


Even amid her basketball career, Amihere finds time to give back to her community. From coaching youth basketball camps to founding and directing basketball camps for young French students, she empowers the next generation to dream big and reach for the stars.


As she continues to shine on the court with the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA, Laeticia Amihere remains a beacon of hope and inspiration, proving that with talent, tenacity, and heart, anything is possible.
