First of all, photography was never something I imagined myself doing. What actually happened was, I was rejected at a movie screening audition because I was not mature enough. I was under 18 at that time and the required age was 18 years and above. It was at that point I told myself that if I could not be in front of the camera. I definitely can be behind it and create magic - storytelling through images. Boom, here I am today ta-daa (ha-ha). I was inspired by the late Bob Pixel, one successful Ghanaian photography and guru (may his soul rest in peace) and one Kafui Praise. I have never met these two prominent individuals before. However, I was inspired by their work and work ethics from a distance and it’s been worthwhile.

What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them?
My biggest hurdle at the initial stage was I had no support and no one to teach me because almost everyone I reached out to at that time ignored me. So, I said to myself I will do this on my own, so started watching tutorials on YouTube and practicing day in day out and as the days went by, I got better and met some good important people who helped me along the way, Jeff Brefo (scarpixels), Emmanuella Owusu-Boadi and Ronald (yooyi breaker). So basically, my best friend - was YouTube. It’s still my best friend because it’s the best place to learn. Also, another hurdle was that my friends damaged my photography gear all in a week - (worth 18,000 cedis). So I had to save up, therefore. more passionate and motivated about my new found career not a job.
What advice would you give to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally?
My advice to the upcoming youths, stay consistent with your craft and also don't follow the crowd.
Know what works for you and stay true to it, because people love originality. Feed your focus, starve your distractions.

I am currently based in Accra, Ghana but I am available for travel.
